Readers of all ages will explore all thing musical this summer as The Hennessey Public Library presents “Libraries Rock” during our summer reading program. June 4th-8th from 10am-11am Activities include musical crafts, art projects, group games. We will also have the OKC Zoo come June 4th at 10 am and bring animals and story about how animals make music.

We are also participating in a program that was made possible by Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden and Metropolitan Library System with the statewide launch of their community literacy program, "Read for Adventure." This successful promotion and partnership will be going Oklahoma wide, welcoming every public library across the state to participate at no cost. "Read for Adventure" enables library card holders to check out the original children's book, Our Day at the Zoo, from any of the 247 public library locations within the state to receive four general admission ticket vouchers to the OKC Zoo. “Read for Adventure” begins May 1, 2018 and continues through March 31, 2019. Zoo ticket vouchers are good through March 31, 2019.

The Summer reading program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story times and reading club with chances to earn a prize for each reading goal you make. Registration for “Libraries Rock “begins on May 14th, 2018.
