Our Story

It all happens here. The Oklahoma story plays out with all the drama of a plains thunderstorm, and the actors are as diverse as the ethnic groups who define us. The Cheyenne and Kiowa, the Irish, Czechoslovakian and Polish immigrants, the Mexican and Oriental people all move through our history and their descendents continue to carve out a rich heritage from the red clay soil, the shale, and the sand.

Our story is the story of survivors, neighbors who stand with neighbors to build and rebuild a thriving, vibrant state that learns from the past, keeps an eye on the sky, and works to make every tomorrow a better day.
