Lone Star School: Now We Are Going To Be Americans
Lone Star School closed its door in April 1946.  In September 2004, some six decades and three generations later, former Lone Star students reopened Lone Star's closed doors by sharing their memories and experiences with Richard Simunek.  The book,

Lone Star School: Now We Are Going to Be Americans  and the Lone Star exhibit at the library is a result of those interviews. The testimony of these one-room school students featured in the exhibit at the library is presented here to insure that Lone Star's doors never close again, and that Lone Star School will remain a teacher of students for generations to come.
