GRANTS

POLICY STATEMENT:

The Library Director is authorized by the Library Board to locate grant opportunities for the library. Application for and administration of grants are considered normal duties of the Library Director and may be delegated to library staff under the director's supervision.  The Library Director is authorized by the Library Board to accept grant contracts and grant moneys andmay not delegate this responsibility without specific approval of the Board.

POLICY STATEMENT:

The Library Director will report requested grants to the Library Board and will make regular reports on administration of grant money received. 

PROCEDURES:

1.  The Library Director, or staff, will locate the grant.

2.  The Library Director, or delegated staff, will make application for the grant.

3.  The Library Board will be notified of the grant-in-progress at the next scheduled meeting.

4.  The Library Director will accept or reject the grant when offered.

5.  The Library Director will notify the Library Board of the acceptance or rejection of grant money at the next scheduled meeting.

6.  The Library Director, or designated staff, will fulfill all requirements for the grant and document purchases and administration of the grant.

7.  The Library Director will archive all records of grant administration for a period not less than 5 years.
