February 2, 1894 Wm. L. Dunton, trustee of Coronado township, died of pneumonia at his home six miles southwest of town Thursday morning at 9:30. He had been ill 12 days. Mr. Dunton came to Oklahoma the first summer after the opening and settled on the claim where he died. He was a minister in the U.B.chuch for about 20 years, was serving the second term as trustee of Coronado township and was loved and respected by all his neighbors. He leaves a wife and four children. He was about 50 years old and had formerly been a member of the East Nebraska U.B. Conference. He was buried at the Houser cemetery to-day, the funeral service being conducted at the Brown school house by Rev. Bingham. He was conscious to the end and ready to die. |
